Florence Vivian Skunberg

Florence Skunberg, died on Saturday, July 06, 2013 at Riverfront on Main Assisted Living in Pelican Rapids, MN. Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Riverfront on Main Assisted Living Center (formerly Good Samaritan Assisted Living) in Pelican Rapids, MN. Burial will be in North Immanuel Cemetery, rural Pelican Rapids, MN. Florence Vivian Ishaug was born on October 28, 1921 to Carl Gustav and Johanna (Stubstad) Ishaug at the Boysen Hospital in Pelican Rapids, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at the West North Immanuel Church. She was raised in Tansem Township, Clay County, MN. She attended country school in District 12 through the 8th grade. She was united in marriage Russell Sanford Skunberg on March 23, 1940 at the church parsonage. They made their home together all of their lives in Norwegian Grove Township, Otter Tail County, MN. She was a stay at home farm wife who worked hard helping with all of the chores and farm work. For the past couple of years Florence has resided at the Good Samaritan Assisted Living Center. She is survived by her son Ronald Skunberg, of Pelican Rapids, MN, two sisters in law: Betty Ishaug and Doris Ishaug both of Pelican Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell in 1968, her parents, three brothers Orphy, Burnett, and Jewel Ishaug, also two infant brothers and one infant sister. The family thanks the staff at the Good Sam Assisted Living and the Lakeland Hospice for their care of Florence. Also thanks to a special sister in law Betty for her goodies, music, and her visits.
