Alice Fosse, 78, died on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at the Clayco Care Center in Barnesville, MN. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Hedemarken Lutheran Church in rural Rothsay, MN with Rev. Stan Satre officiating. Burial will be in the Hedemarken Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday. Alice Schempp was born on August 23, 1934 to George and Stella (Rumsey) Schempp in Oregon. In her teenage years, she moved with her family to Minnesota where she went to school in Pelican Rapids, MN. After school, she worked on the family farm and also at the turkey plant in Pelican Rapids. She was married to Charles Alan Fosse and they started out their married life on Charles parents farm. They later moved to Rothsay where she was a housewife raising four children. They lived there until 1984 when they moved back to the family farm in rural Rothsay. She went back to work at the turkey plant where she worked for 20 years. Charles died in 2004. Alice has lived at the ClayCo Nursing Home in Barnesville over the last couple of years. Alice enjoyed feeding her family. She was a great baker who would make special birthday cakes for everyones birthday. She was proud of her Norwegian Heritage and baked lots of lefse, krumkaka, flat bread, etc. over the years. She was also a seamstress who sewed much of her childrens clothing. In her younger years, she was active in the Rothsay Womans Group. Alice is survived by four children: Bridget Fosse, Ulen, MN, Shane Fosse, Fargo, ND, Scott (Amy) Fosse, Barnesville, MN, Heather (Aaron) Johnson, Fargo, ND, three grandchildren: Shaila, Jaida, and Meiah Fosse, and soon to be granddaughter Freja Fosse. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister Charlotte
