Stanley M. Severtson

Stanley M. Severtson, 76 of Moorhead died Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in Innovis Hospital, Fargo. Stanley, son of Selmer and Millie (Dale) Severtson, was born September 3, 1933 on his family farm near Lake Park, Minnesota. He moved with his family as a young boy, to Bremerton Washington where his father worked for the War effort. Stan and his family returned to this area and settled near Twin Valley where he attended school and grew to manhood, graduating from Twin Valley High School in 1951. He worked for the Faith Mill in Twin Valley after graduation. He entered the U.S. Army where he served driving Jeep for General Walker. He was Honorably Discharged and returned to this area. Stan married Deloris Heimark on June 4, 1966 in Grove Lake Lutheran Church near Pelican Rapids. The couple made their home in Moorhead where he worked for Horvik Electric of Moorhead, Charles & Sons Electric also of Moorhead and S & W Electric of Fargo as an electric motor repairman. He retired in 1998. Stan and Delores continued to live in Moorhead and enjoyed spending summers with his family and friends on Star Lake near Dent, Minnesota. Stan was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead where he served as an usher for many years. He enjoyed fishing, time spent at the lakes and camping. Stan is survived by his wife Deloris; two daughters, Barbara Hanson and her fianc SFC Brice Harris of Columbia South Carolina, Rhonda (Chris) Moser of Fargo; one son Mark (Michelle) Severtson of Dilworth, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Laura Hanson and Kristi Hanson both of Janesville, Wisconsin, Miranda Moser and Grace Moser both at home in Fargo, Drew Severtson and Jacob Severtson both at home in Dilworth; two sisters, Ruby Patzold of Minneapolis and Stella (Alvin) Vakoch of Ada, Minnesota. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gerald; his brother Oren and his sister, Helen Bremer. Funeral service: Saturday at 1:00 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead. Visitation: Today from 5:00 " 8:00 with a Prayer service at 7:00 in Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville, Minnesota and two hours before the service on Saturday at the church. Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, Minnesota .
