Ruth E. McDunn, 53 of Barnesville, Minnesota died peacefully on Saturday, July 10, 2010 in the Barnesville Good Samaritan Society, with her family by her side. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, at 11:00 in Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Gary LaMoine presiding. Linda Davidson will serve as Cantor and the Assumption Adult Choir will sing accompanied by organist, Rosie Carr. Pallbearers will be Wayne McDunn, David Bossart, Raymond Peppel, Tom Bossart, Kelly Peppel and Tony Frink. Honorary Pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 " 8:00 with a prayer service at 7:00 in Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville and two hours before Mass on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville. Ruth Eileen McDunn was born on March 20, 1957 in Moorhead, Minnesota to Charlie and Florence (Frink) McDunn. She attended Assumption Catholic School through the 6th grade, and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1976. It was that year that Ruth was voted by her peers, Miss Congeniality in the Miss Barnesville Pageant. After graduating from high school she went on to Alexandria Technical College where she received her degree as a Dietetic Assistant. She was employed at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Fargo where she worked faithfully for 29 ½ years. In 2008 her illness forced her to retire and move to Barnesville which enabled her to be companion and caregiver to her mother, Florence for over 2 years. Ruth was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Barnesville and a member of St. Anns Guild. She was an avid reader of novels and mysteries and her favorite author was Danielle Steel. Her family was very important to her and she loved them all very much. She never missed anyones birthday and everyone got a special gift from her at Christmas. Ruth delighted in telling and sharing memories of family happenings. Ruth is survived by her mother, Florence McDunn of Barnesville; two sisters, Bette (Dave) Bossart of Fargo, Phyllis (Raymond) Peppel of Barnesville; one brother, Wayne (JoAnn) McDunn of Audubon, Minnesota; one sister-in-law, Mary McDunn of Little Falls, Minnesota; 10 nieces and nephews, Todd (Melanie) McDunn, Tom (Stacey) Bossart, Kelly (Christy) Peppel, Stacy Jo (Brandon) Anderson, Wendy Paulson, Traci (Brian) Lutzke, Terri (Chris) Happke, Melissa (Landon) Behrens, Marley McDunn and Charles (Charley) McDunn; 14 great-nieces and great-nephews, Todd Jr. Ace , Tess, Tiffany and Tabitha McDunn, Gunnar and Gabrielle Bossart, Alexander and Elizabeth Peppel, Sean and Kendall Jo Swanson, Kendra Paulson, Brock and Brody Lutzke, Kaden Happke; six step-great nieces and nephews, Emma, Elizabeth Marmo, T.J. and Isabel Anderson, Jordan and Maia Happke.
