Florence V. Ellefson, 94 of Barnesville, Minnesota formerly Edina, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in the Barnesville Good Samaritan Society. Florence, daughter of Martin and Minnie (Stensrud) Ellefson was born December 5, 1916 on the family farm in Atherton township of Wilkin County, Minnesota. She attended country school and grew to adulthood in the Barnesville area graduating from Barnesville High School in 1934. In her mid twenties she moved to Long Beach, California and worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. After a short stay in California, she was transferred to Minneapolis, Minnesota. She continued to work for AT&T and Quest in Minneapolis, until her retirement in 1982, after 39 years of service. In November of 2009 she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Barnesville where she lived until the time of her death. Florence was very charitable and career oriented. She as very proud of her accomplishments as an independent, successful, business woman. She was very active in politics, the Minnesota Business Womens Club of Minneapolis the Norwegian National League, Quest Pioneers, Central Lutheran Church and The Grace Circle. She is survived by two sisters, Hilda Jackson of Rapid City, South Dakota, Ruth LeNoue of Andover, Minnesota, and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lillian Williams and two brothers, Rufin and Gordon. Funeral service: Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2:00 in Central Lutheran Church, 333 South 12th Street, Minneapolis. Visitation: will be one hour before the Funeral at the church.
