Junette Carr, 87, of Barnesville, MN died on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, December 21, 2012 at St. James United Church of Christ in Barnesville, MN with Pastor Wendy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Aspelund Cemetery, rural Rollag, MN. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM, Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday. Junette Serine Haarstad was born on November 18, 1925 to Rudolph and Cora (Huseby) Haarstad on the farm in Tansem Township, Clay County, near Rollag. She moved to Barnesville in 1943. She worked at Lakies restaurant during High School. She graduated from Barnesville High School in 1945. She worked for potato farmers during harvest time for many years. She was united in marriage to William H. Carr on February 27, 1946. The couple lived in Fargo for a few years and then moved to Barnesville in 1957. She worked at the Barnesville Nursing Home for over 25 years in the laundry and housekeeping department. She loved helping and caring for the residents. She liked to make the circuit and play Bingo with her sister Myrt Wagner. She also liked playing cards and Skip Bo. She was an avid flower gardener and won ribbons at the Clay County Fair for her flowers. She crocheted many Christmas presents and other items for her family. She was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by four sons and one daughter: William (Ginger Roesch) Carr, of Sabin, MN, Steve (Kim Johnson) Carr of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Connie Carr, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Keith Carr of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Mike (Janel) Carr, of Golden Valley, MN, eight grandchildren: Bill Carr, Kim (Chad Wieam)Carr, Heather Carr, Valerie Carr, Rikki (Clyve) Wallace, Toby Purlmuter, Jarad Carr, Robin Carr, seven great grandchildren: Dillion, Tyler, Kyle, Blake, Kailie, Rylie, and Evan, one sister Myrtle Wagner, Barnesville, three sisters in law; Dorene Carr, Kay (George) Hedblum, Laurie Carr, brother in law Andy Skogen, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William on August 5, 1968, her parents, brothers in law: Kenny Carr, Leslie Carr, Donnie Carr, Robert Carr, and one sister in law: LoAnn Skogen.
