MayDean Anderson

MayDean Heloise Anderson, 87, of Elim Care Center, Fargo, ND, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2008. Funeral service will be Friday, October 10, 2008 at 11 a.m. in Rollag Lutheran Church, Rollag, Minnesota. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 " 8 with a prayer service at 7 in Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville and two hours before the service at the church. Burial will be in Rollag Lutheran Cemetery. MayDean was born on July 9, 1921, to Ida (Ness) Solberg and Henry Solberg in Williston, N.D. She attended Writing Rock School, Fortuna, N.D. In 1938 she moved to the Hawley, MN area to seek employment. She married Hartvig B. Anderson of rural Rollag, on November 3, 1941. They made their home on the family farm for 58 years, spending 16 winters (1982-1998) at their home in Apache Junction, AZ. They moved into Barnesville in 1999. May Dean became a resident of Elim Care Center in August 2003, after suffering a stroke. MayDean was a member of Rollag Lutheran Church, the ELCA, and a church circle. She was an excellent homemaker, and baking was one of her favorite pastimes. She will be remembered for her love of her family, the time spent in the kitchen, her love of Christian music, and her enjoyment of playing cards and various games. MayDean is survived by two daughters, Corrine (Rodney) Gust of Everett, WA, and Lorna Walstad (Arlen Getz) of West Fargo, and one grand-daughter, Melissa Conrad (David) of Moorhead, who was the love of her life. In April 2008, she was blessed with the birth of her great-granddaughter, Mallory Jadean Conrad who she absolutely adored. She is also survived by one sister, Alphina Monson of College Park, MD, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hartvig on April 27, 2000, her sister Hazel Lura, and her nephew Darrel Lura.
