Mike was born on July 17, 1947. He was the seventh of ten children born to Francis and Vivian Roesch. He grew up and continued to live in Downer his entire life. He attended school in Barnesville and later entered the Navy in 1965. He was honorably discharged in November of 1969. After the Navy, he worked for Kost Bro. as a truck driver. In 1974 he began employment at Food Services of America in Fargo and continued there for 38 years until he retired in March of 2011 due to his health. Mike married Naomi Lindholm on July 28, 1973. Together they continued to live in Downer where they raised their two girls. Mike was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. It was at the Legion that he enjoyed being with the kitchen crew and cooking Saturday nights for a full house. Mike enjoyed playing Texas Hold-Em, Pinochle, tinkering around the yard, and watching the Twins and Vikings. Relaxing at the lake was his favorite pastime. He loved fishing and was always trying to figure out where the walleyes were. He would come back with a story about the big one that got away. But the thing he treasured most was spending time with his friends and family, especially his kids and grandkids. Mike was a kind and thoughtful man with a big heart, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Michael J.
