Sadie A. Erdman, 58 of rural Rollag, Minnesota died Wednesday September 2, 2009 in the Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo. Sadie, daughter of Paul and Melinda (Berg) Koester, was born September 5, 1950 in Bismarck, North Dakota. She lived with her family in Steele, North Dakota before they moved to Western Minnesota where she attended school and grew to womanhood. She graduated from Glyndon High School in 1968. Sadie married Bob Erdman on February 11, 1969. The couple made their home in the Barnesville-Rollag area where they raised their family. Sadie was the proprietor of the Rollag Store for several years. She also worked at the Moorhead Burger King, Stamart in Fargo and Glyndon, and Menards in West Fargo. She twice served as a census counter in our area, most recently in 2000. She also spent several harvest seasons with American Crystal Sugar. Sadie continued to live in Rollag until the time of her death. She was a member of the Spirit and Life Center in rural Lake Park, Minnesota. She was the Parke Township Treasurer for a number of years and an active member of the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion. She loved horses, enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking and canning and provided many hot meals at the Rollag Store. Family was her greatest love and her joy was her grandchildren. Sadie is survived by her husband, Bob of rural Rollag; two sons, Robert P. (Tracey) Erdman of Davenport, North Dakota, Daniel (Kershann) Erdman of Glyndon; one daughter, Amanda (Brandon) Grabinger of Mandan, North Dakota; 11 grandchildren, Brooke Erdman of West Fargo, Brody Erdman and Brock Erdman both of Alexandria, Minnesota, Courtney Hulbert, Rileigh Hulbert and Sawyer Erdman all of Davenport, Domonic Erdman and Alyce Erdman both at home in Glyndon, Morgan Grabinger, Gage Grabinger and Grant Grabinger all at home in Mandan. She is also survived by one brother, Tim (Barb) Koester of Eagan, Minnesota; one sister, Pam Hoff of Jacksonville, Florida; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Tracy, Jim and Dale. Visitation: Monday, September 7, from 4:00 " 8:00 with a prayer service at 7:00 in Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville, Minnesota and two hours before the service at the church.
