She attended school and grew to womanhood in Barnesville graduating from Barnesville High School in 1938. After graduation she began working for her sister, Victoria Tya , who was operating the restaurant at the old Hector Airport in Fargo. While employed there, she met her future husband, Dick Lillie. They were married in Barnesville and moved to Cass Lake, Minnesota where they owned and operated Dicks Lodge for a number of years. They had one son, Clay. Later Lorraine and Clay moved back to Barnesville where Clay attended school. Lorraine enjoyed living independently for many years at her home in Barnesville. She liked doing a variety of crafts, decorating her home with them and occasionally donating some of her craft items to the Church. She also enjoyed working outdoors in the yard. The time came, however, when with weakened health and advanced age, she could no longer maintain her household, she then moved to the Barnesville Good Samaritan Society where she received assistant care from their fine staff. She lived there until the time of her death. Lorraine had been a member of the Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville for many years, singing in the Church Choir and being involved in other activities. Lorraine is survived by a nephew, Charles (Gertrude) Solum of Moorhead and many other distant nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Clay, (who died in a work related accident); her parents, Dr. Alphonse and Eva Cyr; three brothers, Emil Cyr, Armand (Lorraine) Cyr and Rene (Hilda) Cyr; five sisters, Violet Sarchet, Jeanette (Bud) Murphy, Graziella (Garnet) Solum, Victoria (John) Garrity and Bertha (Huck) Hockenberry. She is also preceded in death by a beloved niece, Angie (Gayle) Rengal (Angie had been raised in the Cyr household throughout her youth). Angie would often travel from her home in St. Paul to visit Lorraine in Barnesville and tend to some of her needs until cancer took Angies life. The family wishes to thank all those who extended their friendship and kind assistance to Lorraine during the years she spent at her home in Barnesville. They also wish to thank the kind caregivers at the Good Samaritan Society of Barnesville for their love, patience and cheerful assistance that Lorraine received during her stay there.
