Steven P Thompson Jr., 89, of Barnesville, MN died Tuesday at MeritCare Health, Fargo. Steven was the sixth child of the family of Steven and Jennie (Maesse) Thompson and was born March 2, 1920. He attended grade school at District 58 and at Bake, MN and went to Barnesville High School. He married Margaret Edwards, daughter of Bill and Marie Edwards of Wolverton, MN on November 17, 1943. They built a new home close to the home place. Steven, along with many other things, raised pheasants and wild turkeys for many years. He also enjoyed spending lots of time at the casino. He was a lifetime member of the Rollag Steam-Threshers Reunion, the Dark Horse in Sabin, and the Sabin Rod and Gun Club. He was a past member of the Barnesville Rod and Gun Club, Pheasants Forever, and Ducks Unlimited. He was a lifetime member of the Downer-Baker Westminster Presbyterian Church. Steven is survived by one sister-in-law, Doris Thompson and many nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, his parents and siblings. There will be a funeral at 2 on Sunday, November 8 in Downer-Baker Westminster Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service in the church.
