Arthur J. Miller, 79 of Barnesville, Minnesota, formerly Fargo died Thursday, September 23, 2010 in the Good Samaritan Society, Barnesville. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 in St. James United Church of Christ, Barnesville with Pastor Wendy Ward officiating. Rosie Carr will serve as organist. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 " 7:00 in the Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville and one hour before the service on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Rosemound Cemetery, Barnesville. Arthur Jesse Daniel Miller, son of Walter G. and Alice C. (Coleman) Miller, was born October 6, 1930 by a midwife in Dent, Minnesota where he attended school and grew to manhood. As a young man he worked as a farm laborer for Dent area farmers. He also did general labor for Kost Brothers Construction of Fargo. He also drove truck for a number of years and was a painter. Art spent most of his adult life in Fargo. In 2002 he became a resident of the Barnesville Good Samaritan Society where he lived until the time of his death. Art enjoyed reading and collecting comic books, he was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing. For many years Arts closest companion was his dog, Barney. He is survived by three sisters, Vonthia D. Boots Olson of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, Emily L. Ollikian of Harlowton, Montana and Charlotte Mae LaDoux of Adkins, Texas. He is also survived by 11 nephews and three nieces. Art is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter Miller Jr.; two sisters, Kathleen N. Alpert and Lucille J. (Brown) Sjolie; three nephews and three nieces.
