Martha L Baebler

Martha L. Baebler, 96 of Barnesville, Minnesota died Sunday March 1, 2009 in the Barnesville Good Samaritan Society, Barnesville. The Funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 in St. Johns Lutheran Church, Barnesville with Pastor John Knierim officiating. Linda Davidson will serve as soloist accompanied by pianist Jessica Dobmeier. Pallbearers will be Paul Karsnia, Tom Dobmeier, Curtis Rehder, Ken Just, Kenley Just and Donald Bohner. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 " 11:00 in the church. Interment will be in City Cemetery, Barnesville. Martha, daughter of Theodore and Mary (Pesheck) Thomson, was born February 6, 1913 in Hastings, North Dakota in LaMoure County. In the fall of 1916 she moved with her family to Wolverton, Minnesota where she attended school and grew to womanhood. Martha married Vernon Baebler on January 17, 1943 in Barnesville. The couple made their home and farmed in Mitchell Township, Wilkin County, Minnesota until their retirement in 1969. It was at this time that they moved into Barnesville. Mr. Baebler died in 1999. Martha continued to live in Barnesville and in November of 2008 became a resident of the Barnesville Good Samaritan Society where she lived until the time of her death. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Womans Missionary League. Martha enjoyed cooking and gardening, which included flowers and her tomatoes. She also enjoyed canning. She is survived by one son, Ronald Baebler of Barnesville; one brother, Leo (Lois) Thomson of Barnesville; two sisters, Gladys Loff of Clinton, Minnesota and Lorraine Gehrig of Barnesville, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Vernon; three sisters, Evelyn Fjeldseth, Esther LeNoue, Josephine Solein, and three brothers, Lloyd, Edward and Alfred.
