Mildred M. Schindler, 91 of Chandler, Arizona, formerly Barnesville, Minnesota died Wednesday, April 20, 2009 in the Chandler Regional Hospital. Millie, daughter of John and Wilhemina (Palmer) Grommesh, was born April 13, 1918 in Barnesville where she attended school and grew to womanhood. She graduated from Barnesville High School in 1938. She moved to Fargo in 1940 where she worked at the Hector Airport Caf until 1941. She married Arnold Anderson in 1941. They made their home in Fargo and in 1942 moved to Barnesville. Millie worked for the Lakies Cafe until 1942. Mr. Anderson died in 1943. Millie began working for the Zimmerman Ben Franklin Store in Barnesville. She continued on when it became the Dobmeier Ben Franklin Store and was an integral part of their operation for many more years. She married Robert Schindler on September 9, 1961 at the Assumption Catholic Church, Barnesville. They made their home in Barnesville. Rob died in 2006. She continued to live in Barnesville and later moved to Arizona to live with her son. She lived there until the time of her death. She was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church and St. Anns Guild. She is survived by one son, Ed Anderson of Gilbert, Arizona; two grandsons, Jason (Heidi) Anderson and Robert (Michelle) Anderson all of Chandler; two great-grandsons, Zachary Anderson and Dylan Anderson both of Chandler; two nieces Delores (Brad) Cook and Ann (Jeff) Kava all of Barnesville. She is preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, her brother Ken Grommesh and her sister Cy Aamodt. Visitation: Tuesday from 4:00 " 8:00 with a Prayer Service at 7:00 in the Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville and two hours before Mass on Wednesday at the church. Funeral Mass: Wednesday at 11:00 in the Assumption Catholic Church, Barnesville. Interment: St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville. www.dobmeierfuneralhome.com
