Gerry Cihak, age 51, of Barnesville, Minnesota died Sunday, February 10, 2013 surrounded by his family in Barnesville under the care of Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Friday, February 15, 2013 at Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville. Interment will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville. Visitation will be 5-7 PM on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Dobmeier Funeral Home with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service. Visitation will resume one hour prior to services in the church. Gerald Lee Cihak was born on March 27, 1961 to Lawrence A. and Janita (Severson) Cihak in Moorhead, MN. He attended Assumption Catholic School and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1979. Gerry worked in housekeeping for about 10 years at MeritCare in Fargo and ClayCo in Barnesville, MN. Gerry liked to deer hunt and fish. He worked every year at the Steam Threshers Reunion. He made routered wood signs. His family was very important to him. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his mother Janita, Barnesville, siblings: Jane Carr, Mary Johnson , Ruth Johnson, Jeffrey (Sheila) Cihak, Jill (Philip) Rogers all of Barnesville, nieces and nephews: Mary (Mike Sacrison) Nosal, Brooke (Matt) Elliot, Aaron (Laurie) Carr, Brady (Megan Klemisch) Anderson, Isaac (Kelly Mueller) Johnson, Wendell Rogers, Caleb Rogers, Matthew Cihak, Taylor Cihak, two great nephews Christopher Nosal and Chase Oren, with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends. Gerry was preceded in death by his father Lawrence.
