Donald E. Mulcahy, age 87, of Yukon, Oklahoma, formerly of Barnesville, Minnesota died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Essentia Health in Fargo, North Dakota. Don was born on October 25, 1924 in Barnesville, Minnesota on the old Seiber farm the son of Edward and Dora (Nicklay) Mulcahy. He started school at District 65 and graduated from Assumption Catholic School. He lived on the Johnny Nicklay farm until 1961. He then moved to Detroit Lakes to the 2x4 Ranch where he trained and cared for horses. He also furnished the horses for the Fort Detroit Deer Park and drove the stagecoach. Dons dream was to be a cowboy, and that he was. The other part of that dream was to be a cowboy somewhere with warm weather year-round. So, in 1980 Don moved to Oklahoma to work on a cutting horse ranch for Don Taylor where he worked until retirement. He is survived by brothers: Everett (Arlene), Detroit Lakes, MN; Wallace (Carol) Barnesville, MN; Eddie (Marlys), Barnesville, MN sisters: Bernice Lewis, Detroit Lakes, MN; Lorraine Barry, Moorhead, MN; Agnes (Virgil) Barta, Moorhead, MN; Dorothy (Curt) Cook, Sabin, MN and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Curtis; sister: Margie Stubstad; brother-in-laws: Orris Lewis, Glenn Barry, Arvid Stubstad. Visitation: Will be held on Sunday, April 15 at the Dobmeier Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service and will resume one hour prior to services in the church. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm, Monday, April 16, 2012 at Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville, Minnesota. Interment: St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville, Minnesota. Celebrant: Fr. Gary LaMoine
