Dean O. Lammers, 80, died on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND. Dean Oliver Lammers was born on August 31, 1933, to Eddie and Gina (Erickson) Lammers. He grew up in the Sabin, Barnesville area and attended country school. Dean was united in marriage to JoAnn Cecelia Ferris on December 29, 1953 at Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville. He farmed in the Barnesville area for several years. He later retired after 31 years as a grader operator for Clay County. He enjoyed his yard work, keeping up the lawn and flowers. Dean treasured his family time. He played a lot of cards, especially dummy rummy and he also enjoyed a trip to the casino every now and then. Dean is survived by two daughters: Julie (Earl) Rogers, Barnesville, MN, and Mary (David) Mulcahy, Elk River, MN; grandchildren: Barry and Randy Peet, Fargo, ND, Tracie (Jeremy) Robeck, Elk River, MN, and Ryan (Allison) Mulcahy, Ramsey, MN; great grandchildren: Ella, Aidan, Nola, and Joseph Robeck, and Reese and David Mulcahy; several brothers and sisters in law. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn in 2011, his parents, Eddie and Gina; son, John; daughter, Mary; four brothers: Dallas, DeLyle, Dalmer, and Edward Lammers, one sister Delores Larson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville, MN with Father Gary LaMoine presiding. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Barnesville. Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Dobmeier Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Thursday.
