Herman S. Dunham, 82, of rural Rothsay, Minnesota passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Sanford Medical Center, Fargo, North Dakota. Visitation: Thursday, September 1, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville, Minnesota. Visitation resumes one hour prior to the service at the church. Service: 11:00 a.m. " Friday, September 2, 2011, at North Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Pelican Rapids Burial: West North Immanuel Cemetery Herman Sanford Dunham was born May 26, 1929, in rural Rothsay, Minnesota, to Helmer and Selma (Ronningen) Dunham. He was baptized, confirmed and remained a life-long member of North Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Pelican Rapids. He attended school in District 45 and Barnesville High School. He grew to manhood and farmed in Wilkin County. He married Deloris Arntson on October 21, 1950 at Gran Lutheran Church. They made their home in PrairieView Township for close to 61 years. They raised their six children and a niece and nephew. In addition to farming since the age of 14 years, Herman worked at American Crystal Sugar Company, potato house, railroads in North Dakota, and drove turkey truck for a brother-in-law. In his later years, he was an avid collector of toy tractors and airplanes. Herman is survived by his wife Deloris; children: Doris (Terry) Dunham-Sweeney, El Paso, WI; Leon (Donna) Dunham; Leslie (Joanne) Dunham; Dawn (Wayne) Shulstad; Nolan (Candi) Dunham; David (Shelly) Dunham all from the rural Barnesville area; Kathy (Lee) Evavold, Battle Lake; and J.R. (Laura) Rasmussen, Dalton; brothers-in-law: Raymond Krier; Gordon (Joyce) Arntson; sisters-in-law: Ruby Dunham; Maybelle Edmondson; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and life-long friend: LuVern (Dalyce) Axness. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Juleen, and Robert Doyle; sisters: Irene Krier, Rosella Arntson, and Mavis Regelstad; brothers-in-law: Edwin Arntson, Johnny Regelstad, and Elerth Arntson; grand nephew: Landon Arntson.
