Robert Wayne Erdman

Robert W. Erdman, 63, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at his home in Rollag, MN. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, February 14, 2014 at Rollag Lutheran Church with Rev. Frank Andreen officiating. Robert Wayne Erdman was born January 30, 1951 in Moorhead, MN, to Arnold and Mary (Kmetz) Erdman. He grew up in Barnesville, where he attended school. Later in his life, Bob attained his GED and attended the Detroit Lakes Tech School. He was united in marriage to Sadie Koester on February 11, 1969. They made their home in Barnesville for about 10 years. In the 1970s he farmed with his Dad. In 1979, they moved to rural Rollag and later moved into the town of Rollag. During these years, Bob drove gravel truck for Fitzgerald Construction and Johnson Construction, and then leased on with Aggregate. He sold satellite dish systems around the area for a few years. He later drove truck for Roger Aakre before purchasing his own truck and continued trucking in the late 1990s through 2008. He enjoyed playing cards and pinochle. For many years he enjoyed deer hunting. During the 1980s, Bob's favorite hobby was restoring old cars. He also cut and sold wood. Bob liked to drive around and visit with friends and neighbors. He is survived by three children: Robert Paul (Tracy) Erdman of Davenport, North Dakota, Daniel Erdman of Rollag; Amanda (Brandon) Grabinger of Montana; 15 grandchildren, Brooke Erdman of West Fargo, Brody Erdman and Brock Erdman both of Alexandria, Minnesota, Courtney Hulbert, Rileigh Hulbert and Sawyer, Sadie, and Charlie Erdman all of Davenport, Domonic Erdman and Alyce Erdman of Glyndon, Morgan Grabinger, Gage Grabinger and Grant Grabinger, Estella Grabinger, Avianna Grabinger, all at home in Woodworth, ND, three siblings: Skip Erdman, of Barnesville, Betty (Jonny) Johnson, Barnesville, and Ronny Erdman, Barnesville, several nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Mary in 1997, and Arnold in 1998, wife Sadie in 2009, and three siblings: Shirley Lohse, Virgil Erdman and James Erdman.
