Calvin John Schuster

Calvin Schuster, age 70, a resident of Barnesville, Minnesota, died on Thursday, July 21, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society in Barnesville, Minnesota. Visitation: Sunday, July 24, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville, Minnesota. Visitation resumes one hour prior to the service at the church. Service: 11:00 a.m. " Monday, July 25, 2011, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Barnesville, Minnesota Burial: Barnesville City Cemetery, Barnesville, Minnesota Calvin John Schuster was born March 28, 1941, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to LaVern and Verna (Parde) Schuster. He was raised and attended a country school near Firth, Nebraska until the age of twelve. In 1953 he and his family moved to rural Breckenridge, Minnesota where they farmed and he graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1958. On November 23, 1962, Calvin was united in marriage to Constance (Connie) Johnk at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin, MN. The couple lived near Campbell, MN where Calvin continued to farm until 1966 when they moved to Brushvale, MN and he begin working at Siouxland Dressed Beef, West Fargo, ND. In 1969, after living in Moorhead, MN for a brief period of time, Calvin moved his family to Barnesville, MN. While in Barnesville, Calvin bought a semi and drove truck until 1978 when he purchased the first ABC Seamless Siding franchise. He and Connie moved to Fergus Falls, MN in 1984 and he continued to run the franchise until 1998. In 1998 Calvin and Connie moved back to Barnesville, where they have lived ever since. Calvin stayed in the siding business for two more years and in 2001 he bought his own semi once again and became an over-the-road trucker. He retired in December of 2007. Calvin was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Barnesville. Calvin is survived by his wife, Connie; son, Harold (Shelley) Schuster, Lakeville, MN; daughter, Debra (Darcy) Brandt, Comstock, MN; grandchildren: Matthew, Megan and Kayla Schuster and Abby and Beau Brandt; brother, James (Claudia) Schuster, Bismarck, ND; and two sisters, Gloria (Jerry) Schoenborn, Mahnomen, MN, and Joyce Larson, Dilworth, MN.
