Darice J. Johnson

Darice Johnson, 51, of Fergus Falls, MN died March 31, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, April 5, 2014 at North Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Pelican Rapids, MN with Rev. Saul Stensvaag officiating. Burial will follow in the West North Immanuel Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Friday, April 4, 2014 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with a Prayer Service at 5:30 PM. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday. Darice Julie Haugrud was born to Victor Oliver and Dorothy Maxine (Roen) Haugrud on June 12, 1962 in Moorhead, MN. She grew up in rural Barnesville on the family farm and attended school in Barnesville graduating in 1980. She attended Moorhead Tech School for two years for secretary training. She worked at Fargo Laundry and then worked at West Central in Pelican Rapids. She was united in marriage to Bradley Dean Johnson on March 21, 1993 at the Pelican Rapids Baptist Church. They made their home in Fergus Falls. She was a stay at home mom who raised her four children. In the last five years, she worked outside of the home at Walmart in Fergus Falls in the jewelry and men's department. Darice liked to read, enjoyed her walks with her children and gardening. She cooked and baked a lot and made sure there was a fridge full of food for her family. She emulated her mother in many ways. She had a nightly ritual in the evening to take a bath and some quiet time to unwind. Time out to eat at a restaurant and at the movies with her family was also special. She had a tender spot and enjoyed her cats while growing up on the Haugrud family farm. She is survived by her husband Bradley, Fergus Falls, MN, four children: Travis, Vanessa, Lynnzee, Benjamin, Fergus Falls, three step children: Jacob (Jodi) Johnson of Manhattan, KS, Carlie (Nathan) Enderle, Step Granddaughter Madilynn Enderle, of Fargo, Bryanna Johnson of Fargo, four brothers: Victor Jr. "Butch" (Jennifer) Haugrud, of Pelican Rapids, John (Paula) of Pelican Rapids, Tom (Kathy) of Wahpeton, and Van (Mary) of Sioux Falls, SD, four sisters: Dorothy Haugrud, of Buffalo, MN, Dorrene Haugrud of Bismarck, ND, Dianne Bloomquist of New Market, MN, Darla (Mark) Lindell of Lakeville, MN, and several nieces and nephews.
