Mary S. Niemitalo, 49, of Lake Park, MN died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. Peter's Church in Audubon, MN with Pastor John Lee officiating. Visitation 5-7 PM, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the memorial service at the church on Monday. Mary S. Hovde was born on January 19, 1965 to Charles and Eldora (Thornton) Hovde in Moorhead, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at St. James Church in Barnesville, MN. She attended school in Barnesville and graduated with the class of 1983. She moved to Wahpeton, ND and served as the manager at McDonalds. She later moved to Detroit Lakes where she worked at Norby's Department Store. Her love of children led her to work at a couple of daycare centers before starting her own Little Tykes Day Care in rural Audubon. For the past 15 years, she worked at TLC Companies, Detroit Lakes, as a payroll coordinator. Mary had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, as well as dancing and fishing and country music. She has sung along at WeFests for several years. Mary and Levi spent many trips together coming to Barnesville for family time. Mary loved her dog Sammy and their walks together, and tolerated Mike's cat. She was handy at fixing things and was proud of her inherited tools. Mary was a great help at the Green Valley Golf Course with everything from events to repairs. Mary is survived by her significant other Mike Levin, Lake Park, MN, one son, Levi Niemitalo and his girlfriend Kasey Wass, Lake Park, MN; siblings: Sharry (Doug) Hermes, Barney, ND, Terry (Teresa) Hovde, Moorhead, MN, Kari Krull and her friend Mike Breuer, Walcott, ND; her nieces and nephews: Kolynda Korinek and fiancée Gene Erickson, Krystal Ihli and friend Duane Charles, Trevis (Jennifer) Ekberg, Torie Krull, Tanasha Krull and fiancé Greg Wanner; and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by several friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
