Maynard Olson

Maynard Olson, 61, died at his home in Oklahoma City, OK on Monday, September 08, 2014. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September17, 2014 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with Pastor Paul Huso officiating. Burial will follow in Little Bethany Cemetery, rural Barnesville. Maynard Arthur Olson was born on November 2, 1952 to Paul Edwin and Doris Louise (Anderson) Olson in Moorhead, MN. He grew up on a family farm southeast of Barnesville, where he lived many years of his life. He attended school in Barnesville graduating in 1970. During Maynard's lifetime he studied at North Dakota State University and, later in life, he also studied at Moorhead State University, with an emphasis on Archeology. Maynard worked at American Crystal Sugar and also at Freddy's Lefse. He was a smart knowledgeable man and a trivia buff. He was a friendly but quiet person. Maynard spent hours upon hours reading. Maynard is survived by one sister Rachel (Kelly) McAllen of Fargo, one brother Wayne P. Olson of Boston, Mass., one niece Kari McAllen, and one nephew Ryan McAllen. He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunts and uncles, including Arthur Anderson, Lillian Janssen, Floyd Anderson, Hilda Aos, Mae Axness, Ella Malingen, Henry Olson, and, especially, Julia Olson.
