Johnny E. Johnson, age 82, a resident of Barnesville died on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at the Twin Valley Living Center in Twin Valley where he had been a resident for four years. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 30, 2015, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Barnesville, MN with Pastor Brett Hartwig officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Thursday, January 29, 2015, at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. Johnny Edward Johnson was born on October 6, 1932 to Fred and Bertha (Fankhanel) Johnson in Bismarck, ND. He grew up in the Barnesville Area. He attended school in Barnesville. He served his country in the US Army, mostly stationed in Colorado. He returned home to Minnesota. He met Betty Jane Erdman when she was walking down the street, and they were married on March 24, 1956 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Barnesville. They made their home in Barnesville. He did construction work, drove school bus for Barnesville for many years. He retired from the City of Barnesville in 1998. Johnny could be seen walking and riding bicycle all over town. After retirement, he mowed lawns for people around town. He enjoyed playing cards and keeping his yard up. He liked being the taxi driver for his grandkids. Country music, auction sales, and old cars were his fun times. He is survived by his wife Betty, three sons: James (Stacy) Johnson, LeRoy (Karen) Johnson, Jerry (Sandie) Johnson, all of Barnesville, MN, grandchildren: Carrie Johnson, West Fargo, Blaine (Tiffany) Johnson, Fargo, Briana Johnson, Morris, MN, Jessica Johnson, Barnesville, Levi Foss, Fergus Falls, MN, 3 sisters: Inez Horgen, Crystal, MN, Dorothy Nordback, Fargo, Clarice (Rodney) Schmidt, Sabin, and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
