Rose Rollie, died on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the Ecumen Assisted Living in North Branch, MN. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, February 16, 2015 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Barnesville, MN with Pastor Dave Astrup officiating. Burial will follow in City Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Monday. Rose Harriet Holt was born on July 11, 1927, to Arthur B. and Mathilda Holt in Minneapolis, MN, the youngest of four children. As a little girl she moved to Minneapolis and lived with her father for a few years. Then at age eight she moved to Barnesville and was raised by her Uncle Peder and Aunt Nellie Dunham near Barnesville. She attended school and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1945. She went to Washington DC and worked for a while, before returning home. Rose was united in marriage to Marvin Ingard Rollie on August 29, 1946 in Barnesville. While her daughters were growing up, she stayed at home, and as they became older Rose began working at the Barnesville Nursing Home for 3 years, and then at Dakota Hospital in Fargo for over 20 years, mainly in purchasing. Rose moved to Ecumen Assisted Living in North Branch in 2012 to be more near her family. Rose was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Barnesville, the American Legion Auxiliary, a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Hey Makers, a local square dance club. Some of Rose's hobbies included camping, snowmobiling, square dancing, and embroidery. Rose is survived by two daughters: RaNelle Miller, Grantsburg, WI, Marsha (John) Urick, Chisago City, MN, two grandchildren: Michelle Nelson of Blaine, MN and W.D. (Tammy) Blackmon of Vadnais Heights, MN, two great grandchildren: Kirstie Blackmon, Hannah Blackmon, one brother in law Richard Rollie, Pelican Rapids, MN, sisters in law Audrey Westby, Pelican Rapids, Darlene Bylander, Coon Rapids, MN, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin in 1998, her parents, one nephew Steven Westby, one brother Arnold Holt, and two sisters: Melnor Pederson, Lois Reiner, special cousin Shirley Larson.
