Beverly Johnk, 77, died on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at ClayCo Care Center in Barnesville, MN. Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, February 23, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sabin, MN with Pastor Brett Hartwig officiating. Beverly Jane Drussell was born on November 15, 1937 to Frank and Helen (Gust) Drussell in Moorhead, MN. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She grew up in Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1955. She worked at Hornbacher's following high school and Fanny Farmer Candy where she developed a love of chocolate. Through her life she worked at several places including Dakota Hospital, Eventide Nursing Home, The Ramada Inn, The Evergreens and the Golden Living Center. She was united in marriage to Lester Wayne Johnk on November 14, 1964 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin. They made their home in rural Sabin where they raised their family. In 1987, they moved to Moorhead and lived there until 2003, when they returned to their roots on the farm. Bev enjoyed crocheting and quilting and enjoyed making blankets for all of her family. She was crafty and enjoyed painting bird houses. Bev was a great cook and baker. She and her husband also spent lots of time traveling. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin where she enjoyed helping with the prayer shawl group and the quilters. She is survived by her husband, Lester; two children: Amy (Chris) Rasmussen of Sabin, MN, Fred (Sondra) Johnk of Moorhead, MN; three grandchildren: Taylor and Reid Rasmussen and Ethan Johnk; siblings: Joan (Charlie) Hardie of Wahpeton, ND and Bill (Becky) Drussell of Sabin.
