Janet Ann Slininger

Janet Slininger, 68, of Barnesville, MN died on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, April 2, 2015 at St. James United Church of Christ in Barnesville, MN with Pastor Wendy Ward and Pastor Norman Thomsen officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemound Cemetery, Barnesville, MN. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Dobmeier Funeral Home at Dobmeier Funeral Home with a Prayer Service 7:00 PM. Janet Ann Hendrickson was born on March 20, 1947 to Clifford and Gladys (Loraas) Hendrickson in Mahnomen, MN. She grew up in Mahnomen, living in the country for a few years before moving to town. She graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1965. Janet was married to Dean Slininger and then married to Keith Slininger. They moved to Barnesville in 1978. Keith died in 1992. In 1993, she found her partner in life Robert "Butch" Wagner and have been together ever since. Janet worked at American Crystal Sugar in Moorhead for over 28 years. She also worked with Butch on the farm. Tending to the cows and seeing how big of a tractor she got to drive were part of her daily routines. Janet loved riding her 4-wheeler all over the farm. She enjoyed traveling with Butch on the motorcycle and fishing. She enjoyed collecting horses and unicorns and listening to music and dancing. Janet had a big heart and her grandchildren and nieces and nephews were so important to her. She is survived by her fiancée Butch Wagner; four sons: Mike (Debi) Slininger, Fargo, ND, Robert (Lynda) Slininger, Dilworth, MN, John (Corinne) Slininger, Barnesville, MN and Tim Slininger, Moorhead, MN; step children: Michael Wagner, Moorhead and Pamela (Troy) Stoetzer, Moorhead; six grandchildren: Billy Slininger, Bellamy and Violet Slininger, Ashley and Zachary Slininger and Alec Wheelright; two step grandchildren: Kaylee Stoetzer and Brendon Stoetzer; siblings: Ron Hendrickson, Waubun, MN, Mark (Janine Soring) Hendrickson, Waubun, MN, Bonnie (Mike) Mohr, Mahnomen, MN and Roger (Shirley) Hendrickson, St. Cloud, MN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
