Daniel T. Braton, 63, of Pelican Rapids, died Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be Friday, July 10, 2015 at 1:00 PM in Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with Rev. Wade Dutton officiating. Burial will follow in Lake Ida Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Barnesville VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM, Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Dobmeier Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Chris Leach officiating. Daniel Thomas Braton was born October 13, 1951 to DeLoris "Sammy" and Margaret (Paulson) Braton at Moorhead, MN. He grew up in rural Pelican Rapids and attended Pelican Rapids High School, graduating in 1969. Dan attended college at Bemidji State. He served his country in the US Army from 1974-1978. He returned home from the service and was employed at John Deere in Pelican Rapids. Dan was married to Mary Martin and to this union one son Andy was born. Dan lived in Wahpeton, ND for seven years in 1990's before moving back to rural Pelican Rapids. He worked for Mark's Electric in Detroit Lakes for about 3 years, and also worked in Abercrombie for Northland Truss Company for quite a few years. He has helped take care of his parents for the past several years. Playing baseball as a young boy for the Rothsay Team was a joy. As Dan got older he loved to watch baseball. All summer long he enjoyed golfing. He was a dedicated Grandpa to his grandchildren Dominic and Stephanie. Reading was also a favorite pastime including the daily paper and a good book. Daniel is survived one son Andy (Aunna) Braton, Dilworth, MN; two grandchildren: Dominic and Stephanie Braton; his father, DeLoris "Sammy" Braton, Pelican Rapids; one sister, Connie (Kenneth) Meek of North Branch, MN; and one brother, Steven (Cynthia) Braton, Arvada, Colorado; nieces and many cousins.
