Carol Tweeton

December 17, 1942 — March 16, 2016

Carol Tweeton, 73, of Barnesville, MN died on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at her home under the care of hospice.    Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Barnesville, MN with Rev. Chris Leach officiating.  Burial will follow in City Cemetery, Barnesville.    Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral service.      Carol Louise Berg was born on December 17, 1942, to Thomas and Laura (Rugg) Berg in Barnesville.  She grew up and attended school in Barnesville.    On March 31, 1962, Carol was united in marriage to John Sidney Tweeton at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Barnesville.  The couple made their home in rural Barnesville.  In 1970 they moved into Barnesville.  After her children got older, Carol worked at the West Central Turkey in Pelican Rapids for 15 years.    Her children and grandchildren were first and foremost for Carol.  She loved them dearly and often times worried about them.  Carol was meticulous about her yard and her home.   She enjoyed coffee time with her friends and sisters for many years.  Time spent at the lake during the summer made many fond memories for Carol.  She enjoyed dancing, flower gardening, Christmas decorating, clothes, and shopping.    Carol is survived by five children:  Kristie Hodge; Karen (Dan) Fankhanel; Kelly (Tom) Poppel; Kyle (Ann) Tweeton; Kori Krause;  all of Barnesville; 13 grandchildren: Shawn (Britt) Fankhanel; Jeremy Fankhanel; Valerie (Shaun Snider) Fankhanel; Jonathan (Erin Hamlin) Hodge; Jennifer (Nate Phillips) Hodge; Jason Stall; Whitney (Donovan Story) Poppel; Jenna Poppel; Taylor (Trystin Harden) Krause; Brittany Krause; Madi Wallgren;  Josh Tweeton; and Brady Tweeton; three great grandchildren:  Brooklyn and Charlotte Fankhanel; Rylee Story Poppel; three siblings:  June Anderson, Pelican Rapids; Glenn Berg, Barnesville; and Diane (Dick) Liebelt, Barnesville; several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.    She was preceded in death by her husband John in 2007, and her parents.    Carol Tweeton Folder
