Robert Such

Robert “Bob” Such, 76, of Detroit Lakes, MN, longtime resident of Barnesville, MN, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND. Memorial Services will be Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 2 p.m. at St. James United Church of Christ, Barnesville, with Pastor Wendy Ward officiating. Visitation will be Monday, August 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville. Visitation will resume on hour prior to the Memorial service on Tuesday. Robert James Such was born on June 20, 1940, in Hallock, MN, to Barney and Erma (Gorsuch) Such. He was raised on the family farm near Hallock, MN, and attended school  in Kennedy, MN.   After graduation, Bob moved to Moorhead and began working at Coca-Cola, where he worked for 5 years.  Bob married Sharon Schultz on May 7, 1966 in Moorhead, MN.  They moved to Barnesville in 1978.  Bob also worked for Hascon Warehouse, Cass Clay Creamery for several years; and drove semi for Cole Papers for 17 years before retiring.   While living in Barnesville, Bob drove school bus; volunteered delivering Meals on Wheels; and helped at the Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion loading the train. Bob played Santa for many years in Barnesville, for anyone who needed a Santa.  He was a member of the St. James United Church of Christ and enjoyed the men’s group. Bob is survived by his wife Sharon; 3 sons: Tim (Tami) Such of Pelican Rapids; Tom Such of Barnesville; and Troy (Tara) Such of Ramsey, MN; 8 grandchildren: Dillon, Daimen and Danielle; Gracie and Gavin; Avery, Savannah and Emelia; 4 siblings: Melvin (Helen Ann) Such of Hallock; Don (Alice) Such of Fargo, ND; Bernice Carlson of Longmont, CO; and Elsie (Louie) Egstad of Grand Forks, ND; one sister-in-law Trudy Such of Fargo; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother Raymond; one sister Helen Minchinton Torgerson; and brothers-in-law: Tom Minchinton; Ted Carlson and Ellsworth Torgerson.
