David Miles Osborn was born on October 13, 1941 to Miles and Eleanore Osborn in Onamia, MN. He died November 14th 2016 in his home in Westminster, California with his family by his side. In July of 1950 the Osborn family moved to Barnesville, MN. David was confirmed at St. James United Church of Christ in Barnesville. He graduated from Barnesville High School with the Class of 1959. He participated in choir, track, basketball, baseball and football. David continued his education at the University of Minnesota graduating in 1964. He was on the traveling baseball team while at the U of M. After graduating from college David moved to Los Angeles, CA. David worked in the insurance business for the next 40 years in California. David married Florinda Martinex on February 17th, 1976. David and Florinda moved to Borego Springs, CA in 1993 where they built a new home and purchased a gift store. David was a wonderful tour guide; often inviting people from the Barnesville area to visit them in sunny California. David was a health nut who worked out at the YMCA long before it was cool to run a marathon. One day David’s wife Florinda answered a knock on the door from some neighborhood kids wondering if “the boy” could come and play. David enjoyed a good laugh and loved to tease. He loved photography, many sports, and loved animals. David walked his beloved dog Ebony daily. David is survived by his sister Margaret (Richard) Wagner of Fargo, ND; and two nieces: Deanna (DeWayne) Falls of Orange Park, FL; and Suzanne (Aaron) Blazer of Fargo, ND. David is also survived by many cousins and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Florinda. Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Dobmeier Funeral Home, Barnesville, MN, with Duane Morey officiating the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to memorial service. David’s family gratefully acknowledges your attendance and many kind expressions of sympathy and kindness during this time of loss.
