Bonnie Rose Packer

Bonnie Packer, 80, of Barnesville, MN, died on Friday, June 30, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Fargo surrounded by her family under the loving care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.         Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Friday, July 7, 2017 at Assumption Catholic Church in Barnesville with Father Gary LaMoine presiding.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Barnesville.  Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Thursday, July 6, 2017 with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN.  Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the funeral service.     Bonnie Rose Buth was born on March 28, 1937 to George and Rose (Rezac) Buth in Breckenridge, MN.  She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond A Packer, on April 12, 1958 in St. Thomas Catholic Church in Kent, MN.  She worked for the city of Barnesville as a telephone operator for four years and later became a farm wife and mother.  The couple made their home and farmed in Wilkin County, near Barnesville for many years.  Ray died December 5, 1991.  Bonnie was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church, Cancer Sisters, Lighthouses and Guild at Church. Bonnie loved every minute she could spend with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson.  She enjoyed talking with friends and having coffee with them. Bonnie is survived by two daughters: Tandee (Richard Drinka) Brakken of Fargo, North Dakota and Lisa (Mark) Dahle of Andover, Minnesota and one son Kent (Kris) Packer of Kindred, North Dakota; 5 grandchildren: Melissa (James) Thomas, Caitlin Dahle, Emilee Dahle and fiance, Ben Smith, Payton and Jack Packer; great-grandson Brody Thomas; sister-in-law Audrey (Dick) Hebert; brother-in-law Don (Jackie) Packer; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; parents; sister Jacqueline Buth; and brother-in-law Mick Bergeron. Memorials preferred to the Hospice of the Red River Valley.
