Bruce "Fastbuck" Lewis

Bruce “Fastbuck” Lewis, 69, died on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo.       Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at St. James United Church of Christ in Barnesville with Rev. Frank Picard officiating.  Burial will be in City Cemetery, Barnesville, MN.    Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Monday, November 6, 2017, at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville.    Bruce Edward Lewis was born on May 16, 1948, son of Edward and Evelyn (Johnson) Lewis in Minneapolis, MN.  He was baptized, confirmed and a member of St. James United Church of Christ in Barnesville.  He attended school and grew to manhood in Barnesville, graduating from Barnesville High School in 1967.    Bruce was united in marriage to Sharon Diana Farsdale on April 26, 1969 in Walcott, ND.  They made their home in Barnesville.    The majority of his life, he was self-employed in the area.  One of his favorites was when he owned and operated Lewis’ Bar and Grill in Barnesville.  Following that, he worked in Texas for several years. Bruce’s world revolved around his daughter, Jamie.  Bruce’s pride and joy was not only Jamie, but also his grandsons Cole and Carter.  He was especially proud to be with Cole when he shot his first deer and with Carter when he caught his first fish.  Bruce will be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed being at the lake and a good game of cards.    He is survived by his wife Sharon, daughter Jamie Swenson, grandsons Cole and Carter Swenson, mother Evelyn Lewis, brother Roger “Neak” (Kathy McLaughlin) Lewis, sister Judy (Wayne) Bjerketvedt, all of Barnesville, and nephew Evan Lewis, Devils Lake, ND.   Bruce was preceded in death by his father Edward, brother Keith, and father-in-law Wade Farsdale.    Bruce's Memorial Folder
