Alden Hough, 80, of Barnesville, died on Friday, June 25, 2021, at his son Ryan's home in rural Barnesville, under the care of hospice.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Barnesville with Rev. Chris Leach officiating.Burial will follow in Little Bethany Cemetery, rural Barnesville.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, with a Prayer Service at 7:00PM at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville.
Alden Arthur Hough was born on July 3, 1940, to Arthur and Emilie (Susag) Hough on the farm in Humboldt Township, Clay County, MN. He attended country school through the eighth grade and then Barnesville High School, graduating in 1958. At the age of 16 years old, he took over the family farm and continued to care for the land all his life, until retiring in 2012. He raised hogs, cattle, grain, and two boys.
Alden was united in marriage to Lorna Ann Johnson on October 16, 1982, in Fargo. They made their home on the Hough Family Farm near Barnesville. He enjoyed deer hunting throughout his life.
He is survived by two sons: Michael Hough, Barnesville; and Ryan (Heather) Hough, Barnesville; two granddaughters, Emery and Claire; sister, Joan Johnson, Lenexa, KS; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Alden was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna in 2016; his parents; a brother, Mencer Hough; and a sister, Julia Fern Iverson.
