Elaine Harding

Elaine Harding, 72, of Barnesville, passed away at ValleyCare and Rehab on Monday, September 30, 2019.

A time of remembering and gathering will be held from 11 AM-1 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Dobmeier Funeral and Cremation Service in Barnesville, MN. A Remembrance of Life Service will be 11:00 AM with Rev. Jim Greene officiating.

Elaine Marie Barth was born on November 7, 1946 to Adam and Emilia (Bullinger) Barth in Carson, ND. Elaine grew up in Shields, ND. She and her family moved to Mandan, ND, where she graduated from Mandan High School.

Elaine was married to Charles Harding on February 19, 1966 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Mandan, ND. They made their home in Bismarck, ND.  In 1976, Elaine and Charles moved to Barnesville where she worked as a cook at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant, The Galaxie and Barb’s Café. They left Barnesville in 1984, moving to the Frazee and Vergas, MN areas. They owned and operated a tavern in Vergas, naming it Kelli’s Place. They sold Kelli’s Place in 1990. Chuck passed away on March 4, 2000. Elaine moved back to Barnesville in 2011 upon retirement.

Trips to the casino and being with her grandkids were things she enjoyed. Traveling to Australia to visit her eldest daughter, Tara and her family, was also a highlight for her. She has been a resident of ValleyCare and Rehab for the past 3 ½ years.

She is survived by her three children: Tara (Kenneth) Robson of Perth, Australia, Scott of Saint Peter, MN and Kelli Steer of Barnesville; and 5 grandchildren: Evan, Sophie and Halle Robson and Hayden and Emma Steer.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chuck; and 2 brothers: William Barth and Clarence Barth.
