Helen Ann Hanneman, was given a special welcome in heaven on her 80th birthday, November 1, 2018 at her home in Barnesville.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 302 3rd ST NE, Barnesville, MN with Rev. Chris Leach officiating. Burial will follow in the Burau Cemetery, Foxhome, MN.
Visitation will be 5-8 PM, Monday, November 5, 2018 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.
Helen Ann Trantham was born on November 1, 1938 to Roy Byron and Menoda Alice (Dickinson) Trantham in Fergus Falls, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at a church in rural Foxhome, MN. She attended the Methodist Church in Foxhome through her adolescent young years. Her family moved to Barnesville, MN in 1956.
Helen was united in marriage to Carol “Babe” Hanneman on May 2, 1958. They raised their four children in Barnesville, MN. She was a longtime member of the former Assembly of God Church in Barnesville. For over 20 years, Helen was responsible for cleaning at the Clay County Fairgrounds.
Helen will be remembered as unwavering, strong, caring, giving, and loving. She battled cancer in her early 40’s and lived 40 more years. Helen and Babe did everything together. In her younger years she enjoyed hunting and fishing. When the hunters came home with their catch, she would get out of bed to help clean the fish. She was an incredible cook and baker. She loved to share her baked goods with friends, family, and neighbors at special times of the year, including Valentine’s Day, Easter, and May Day. Helen was selfless, thinking of everybody else before herself. Helen loved to garage sale and the hunt for bargains. Throughout her lifetime, she had many near and dear animals and pets. She would stand in the window and wave good-bye and motion to make sure you buckled your seatbelt.
Helen is survived by her children, Daniel (Lori Frieze) Hanneman of Wolverton, MN, Darcy Hanneman of Barnesville, Darwin (Julie) Hanneman of McKinney, TX, and Dawn (Corey) Stuvland of Barnesville; 8 grandchildren: Danielle, Alexander, Morgan, Krista, Jianna, Kolby, Maddy, and Mya. A four-legged companion Sarah, also survives her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Babe in 1997, her parents Roy and Menoda Trantham, one sister, Lorraine McKay, one brother, Roy Trantham, and many of her favorite dogs.
Helen will be remembered for wearing scarves and the color red. In her honor, you are invited to wear a scarf and red.
