James "Jimmy" Robert Mork

James “Jimmy” Robert Mork, 28, of Barnesville, MN, died on Sunday, January 28, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be held at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN, on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 5-8 pm. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite band T-shirts. A time of remembrance and story sharing will begin at 6:30 pm.

 James Robert Mork was born in Fargo, ND, on June 19, 1995, to Steve and Marcy. He grew up in both Barnesville, MN and Fargo, ND. Jimmy worked at Gateway Building Systems in West Fargo, ND as a lead man. He worked on hundreds of projects in the F-M area including the Fargo Sports Complex and was currently working on the soybean crushing plant in Casselton, ND.

 Jimmy’s first love was music, and he got his first guitar at the age of 12. An old soul, he loved 70’s rock and considered himself a ‘Metal Head.’ Over the years he played with a number of bands including Candlewolf Disciple and Green Jello, of which he was band member #882. He was multi-talented playing both guitar and drums and singing as well.  His favorite pastime was listening to music and ‘jamming’ in the basement. His knowledge of music was extensive, and he could talk about it for hours.

 Jimmy also loved animals of all kinds including dogs, snakes, and especially his three cats, and he met his girlfriend, Ashley, while living in the same apartment building where they bonded over their dogs.

 In his spare time Jimmy enjoyed buying and selling cars, fishing with his grandpa and siblings, playing and listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.  He had a dark sense of humor and may have appeared rough on the outside, but he could light up a room just by walking in to it, and could make anyone laugh. He had a soft heart and was never afraid to tell his family, “I love you.”

 Jimmy is survived by his girlfriend Ashley Birkle and dogs Bane & Mowi, Barnesville, MN; parents Steve (Christina Siewert) Mork, Barnesville, MN, and Marcy (Mark) Estenson, Fargo, ND; siblings: Tim (Kaitlyn Skalicky) Estenson, Fargo, ND, Robert “Mikey” (McKenzie Davis) Mork, Barnesville, MN, and Glori Mork, Moorhead, MN; grandfather Robert Mork, Barnesville, MN; aunt Deanne (Shane) Ertelt; nephews: Brayden, Jaxon, and Luka Mork; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and tons of friends.

 He was preceded in death by grandparents: James Furst, Linda Coss, and Gloria Mork.
