Jonathan Lammers, 57, of rural Pelican Rapids, MN, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. There will be a graveside service on Saturday, December 16 at 2 pm at NorthWest Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, MN, led by Evie Beste.(Directions to Cemetery) FROM PELICAN RAPIDS: West on Hwy 108 for 1 1/2 miles to 180th Ave. Go North on 180th Ave. for 1 1/3 miles. Cemetery is on the (left) west side of the road. Jonathan Delyle Lammers was born on February 11, 1960 to Delyle and Esther (Shulstad) Lammers. He grew up in Norwegian Grove Township and attended school in Pelican Rapids. Jonathan served his country in the US Army. He married Jenni on October 26, 2013. They made their home near Pelican Rapids. Jon was a man of many talents. He was a blacksmith, a gunsmith, and enjoyed leather work. Jon loved the “old style” of doing something, in other words, by hand. Over the years, he taught a few to drive truck. Jon collected treadle sewing machines. Nothing was ever small about Jon. He was a free spirit, had a big heart and was a gentle giant. Jon loved God, his family, and if you were loved by Jon, you knew it. Jon is survived by his wife Jenni, one daughter, Samantha Lammers, and 3 sisters: Lynnie Lammers, of Fergus Falls, MN, Sandy Lammers and Jean Riesterer both of Minneapolis, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
