Judy Getz

Karen "Judy" Getz, age 81, died at her rural Wolverton, MN home, with her family and CHI Hospice caring for her.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, September 13, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church in Wolverton, with Devlyn Brooks officiating.  Burial will follow in Faith Lutheran Cemetery, Wolverton, MN.

Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Dobmeier Funeral Home in Barnesville, MN with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will continue for one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the church.

Karen Judith Hegge, known as Judy for whole life, was born on September 19, 1939 to Russell Joseph and Clarina (Rindahl) Hegge in Baker, MN. She was baptized December 10, 1939 in Rustad, MN. She grew up in Baker, MN where she started school. She then went on to graduate from Barnesville High School in 1957. Judy worked at Osco Drug in Fargo in her younger years. On October 10, 1958, Judy married Robert Getz in Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Barnesville. The couple made their home and farmed in the Wolverton area.

Family was first and foremost to Judy, where they would eat, play cards, and dice. Judy worked potatoes in the spring and fall. She worked bartending in the Wolverton Mountain for a few years. She was a longtime active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Wolverton, where she was active teaching Sunday School, Bible School, sang with the choir for many years. Judy enjoyed bowling, scratch off tickets, and trips to the casino with the girls.

Judy is survived by three sons: Tim, Todd, and Mike, all of rural Wolverton, MN, grandson Dane Platt, of Breckenridge, MN, sibling, Edele Rosenfeldt, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2007, her parents, siblings: Jackie Peet, Russell "Butch" Hegge, Dianne Cusey, Suzanne Willette, Audrey Harris, infant brother Adrian Hegge.
