Nellie Susan Bell, a lifetime resident of the Barnesville area passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead. Nellie was the 7th of 14 children born to John and Louella (Henry) Bell on February 17, 1920 in rural Downer, MN.
Nellie enjoyed spending time with her family and having coffee with her friends and neighbors. She was an excellent cook and baker. She enjoyed making quilts and doilies which were sold at church auctions. She also was skilled at embroidering tablecloths and dish cloths. Throughout her life she collected and admired figurines and other collectibles. She has a vast array of figurines that she displayed and was very proud of. She was a dedicated Minnesota Twins fan and loved a bowl of ice cream. She had a feisty spirit. She lived independently in her own apartment until this past August after a fall, when she entered into Eventide and resided there until her death.
She was a loving mother who is survived by her 5 children: Edythe Sumstad, Fergus Falls, MN, Glenn (Barbara) Lindholm, Deland, FL, Larry (Rosemary) Lindholm, Sioux Falls, SD, Naomi Roesch, Downer, MN, Terri (Steve) Guillquist, Alexandria, MN, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren.
