Alan Jerger

Alan Jerger, age 65, of rural Rothsay, MN, died at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND, on Saturday, December 11, 2021.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Harvest Outreach Church in Wahpeton, ND with Pastor Dominick Warne officiating. Burial will follow Manston Cemetery, in rural Wilkin County, MN.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.

Alan Lee Jerger was born on December 5, 1956, to Walter and Mavis (Peake) Jerger in Moorhead, MN. He grew up on the family farm in Manston Township, Wilkin County, MN.  He attended school in Barnesville graduating from Barnesville High School in 1974.

On March 1, 1980, he was united in marriage to Nancy (Schleske) at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids, MN. They started out their married life on the farm that they currently reside at. Al worked as an Over the Road Truck Driver for many years, farmed, and most recently retired from recycling.

Al was very family oriented and loved them immensely. He spent many hours in the garden, sharing his produce with family and friends. He definitely had a green thumb. Al had a passion for ice fishing, and would spend many hours in his fish house, hoping to bring home supper.He and Nancy enjoyed spending time in Florida and Texas for many winters.

Alan is survived by his wife, Nancy Jerger of Rothsay, MN; two daughters: Jamie (Cole) Nordick of Rothsay, MN and Lisa (Dusty) Nordick, of Rothsay, MN; 4 grandchildren: Griffin, Breklyn, Brynlee and Daxton Nordick; mother, Mavis Jerger, of Rothsay; his 8 siblings: Rose Rodacker, Casselton; Ron (Deb) Jerger, Barnesville, MN; Susie (Ron) Jordan, Fargo, ND; Sandy (Ron) Desmarais, Fargo, ND; Jon (Roxanne) Jerger, Fargo, ND; Sharri (Todd) Drussell, Hawley, MN; Jackie (Brian) Nelson; and Gene (Vickie) Thompson, Kindred, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Alan was preceded in death by his dad, Walter; sister, Annette Jerger; and brother Jay Thompson.
